About GikiCalc

GikiCalc is an independent set of UK tax calculators. It is built and maintained by a software developer, not by a tax adviser — so nothing here rests on a professional qualification. It rests on being checkable instead. Every rate the calculators use is taken from a published HMRC or legislation.gov.uk page, recorded together with the wording it came from, dated, and listed on the sources page; an automated second pass re-reads those pages and flags any figure that has stopped matching. The calculators show their working line by line rather than returning a single figure, because on questions about money a number you cannot check is not much use. The site is free to use and supported by advertising. Corrections are genuinely welcome — if a figure here does not match what HMRC says, please email and it will be fixed.
